24 Weeks in and the pregnancy brain is really getting to Mommy. She can't remember anything anymore. And I'm starting to make things rather uncomfortable for her. This week was pretty much when Mommy realized that she can no longer bend at the waist and should probably start squatting to pick up things off the floor. Shaving the legs is getting complicated. Getting out of bed to pee for the 4th time in the middle of the night involves rolling out of bed and hoping her feet hit the floor first. In other words, she's just having a grand old time!
Enough about Mommy, let's talk about me! I'm now about 12 inches long and about 1 1/3 pounds. Doesn't sound very big, but I will be starting to pack on the pounds now and am likely to gain another half pound this week alone. And 12 inches long--that's the same size as that footlong Seafood Sensation sub from Subway that Mommy would love to be able to throw down! Unfortunately, too many carbs in that bread, and any number of other things that she is craving right now including wonton soup, chinese dumplings, Diamond Dave's tortilla chips and hot sauce, and a huge bowl of lobster fettucine alfredo.
My ears are fully functioning right now and Mommy might start noticing me jump when I hear a loud noise. I am definitely very active in here. Mommy gets punched and kicked quite a lot during the day and sometimes the night too.
Mommy and I have our bi-weekly appointments on Tuesday. Luckily this week they are both at the end of the day and back to back so we will hopefully be in and out and quickly back home. Daddy is trying to save up some of his vacation hours so he can spend more time at home with us when I arrive, so he hasn't been able to come to a lot of the appointments this time like he was able to with Amelia. But that's ok because these are just the boring old routine visits anyway. When the ultrasounds start in 8 weeks, he wants to be sure and be there for those. They are his favorite ones anyway, plus that means he'll only have 7 more weeks to go before he gets to see me in person. Everyone is getting pretty excited around here. We hope you are too!
