39 Weeks Tomorrow--a.k.a. The End of the Road

Today Mommy and Daddy and I went up to Genesis for our NST. Since the doctor's office was closed on Thursday and Friday due to the holiday, they didn't want Mommy to go 5 days without any monitoring, so they sent her to the hospital for the outpatient monitoring. We were told to call ahead, so we did and they said it was a good time to come on up. We arrived a little after 10:00 and had to wait in the emergency room area for a little while before they could get us sent upstairs. When we finally got checked in upstairs about 10:30 they hooked Mommy up to the monitor and I did my thing. I performed very well and they didn't even have to zap me to wake me up.

While we were there, Mommy's blood pressure was a little high again. It was borderline when we arrived, but after laying there for about 30 minutes on the monitor, her blood pressure was a little higher then they liked. They had Mommy lay on her side for about 5 or 10 minutes and checked it again. It had gone back down a little, but still not what they wanted to see. They called in the midwife from Mommy's OB group and she checked Mommy's cervix to see where we were at. Based on her being dilated to 3 cm and effaced about 80%, and her high blood pressure, they were ready to go ahead and admit us and get me out today. Daddy joked that we would have to miss Grandma and Grandpa's Thanksgiving dinner tonight, and Kim the midwife said, "Well, in that case, lets just wait until tomorrow. Go home and enjoy your evening and come back in the morning." Since Mommy wasn't having any real contractions, and I was moving well, they decided that waiting one more day wouldn't hurt anything. Mommy and Daddy were glad to hear that they had one more day to get everything together and finish up a few things and mentally prepare for my arrival.

So.......get ready to meet me tomorrow. I hope you're as excited as we all are! I think a lot of people are excited to finally hear my name. Mommy is excited to meet me and see who has been kicking her ribs all these months.
