Doctors

Mommy spent some time at the doctor's office yesterday getting some medicine for a nasty cold and potential bronchitis. Since she has a passenger onboard (me), she can't really take much in the way of over-the-counter medicines, so she wanted to go get checked out by people who know what she can take. They told her that if it was a bacterial infection, they didn't want me to get exposed to it, so they gave her some Amoxicillan and an inhaler to help her breathe better. Hopefully it will take effect quickly so she can feel better. She was really having a hard time getting a good breath.

We are going to be no strangers to doctors over the next several months. My big sister gets to go on Thursday and have her tube placement surgery. Then Friday is Mommy's and my first appointment with the midwives. She probably won't get to see me yet, this is just an interview with the midwife for Mommy's medical history, etc. Then we go back in two weeks for the exam, and depending on how old I am, she might be able to hear my heartbeat. How exciting!

I'm sure we'll be at the doctor's office a LOT. With Mommy's thyroid problem and history of gestational diabetes, there will be a lot of extra appointments to make sure that everything is going well. When she was carrying Amelia, the diabetes and the treatment of it with medicine put her in the "high risk" category, which meant a lot of monitoring with the fetal heart monitor, and a lot of ultrasounds during the last few months. This time they will have to monitor her thyroid levels closely too because I will cause her levels to go crazy. So just keep us both in your prayers over the next few months for safe travel to and from the doctors, and good health for both of us on this long journey.
